Residential & Development
KnoxClayton Architects is delighted to announce the completion of Dunineany View in Ballycastle, County Antrim, a project recently handed over to our esteemed client, Apex Housing Association.
This remarkable development, designed with meticulous attention to detail, provides 28 bespoke apartments tailored for individuals aged over 55, promoting an active and engaging lifestyle. Situated on the precipice of Ballycastle town Center, Dunineany View boasts an unparalleled location, overlooking the vibrant Ballycastle Promenade and Marina, with the majestic Rathlin Island and Fair Head on the horizon.
The architectural design of Dunineany View was born out of a collaborative effort with the local community group, Friends of Rathlin, ensuring the new building harmonises with the cherished seafront of Ballycastle.
Adhering to the guidelines of the Ballycastle Conservation Area Design Guide, the development seamlessly integrates with the local architectural vernacular. Apartments facing the Sea of Moyle are graced with bay windows, echoing the traditional facades along the seafront, while those set further back benefit from balconies or private gardens, offering residents a tranquil outdoor retreat.
Central to the development is a communal garden, envisioned as a core social space to nurture community ties among residents. Plans are underway to enhance this garden with commissioned artwork, creating a vibrant focal point that fosters a strong sense of community. In a nod to local biodiversity, swift boxes have been strategically installed around the property, inviting these migratory birds to be part of the seasonal landscape, following a request from the Northern Ireland Swift Group.
We extend our thanks and congratulations to Lowry Construction for their exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to bringing this vision to life. Their expertise has been instrumental in achieving the high standards of quality and aesthetics that Dunineany View embodies.
