Knox & Clayton has an experienced team dedicated to steering clients through the notoriously complex and varied system of planning. A preliminary planning study will often eliminate inappropriate schemes, saving clients’ time and money. However, with planning policy and legislation continually changing, we make it our business to stay on top of the latest regulations, Area Plans and Development Control Advice notes.

Our team works with a wide range of clients throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland, offering expert advice on general planning as well as more specialist areas.

This includes a range of town planning related services appropriate to individual scheme requirements, covering: Retail Impact Studies; Environmental Impact Assessments; Local Context Statements; Design Context Statements ; Traffic Impact Assessments; Transport Plans and Planning Reports. We have also experience in Village Master Planning, which aims to combine housing of mixed designs and densities with locally accessible community facilities and shops etc. Also included is the promotion of open spaces, public realm issues, pedestrian/cycle movements and safety by design initiatives.

Our involvement in Master Planning has resulted in the provision of high quality environment, attractive landscaping, safe road systems and a sense of place.

Planning Appeals are an important element within the planning process. Applicants have the right to appeal against decisions made by the Department to the Planning Appeals Commission, which is an independent body offering a range of options and forums to determine appeals, including hearings and written representations.

The Practice has experience in all of these services, representing both third party objectors and clients at Public Enquiries.
