Disabled people should not be treated less favourably in connection with employment, the provision of goods, facilities or services to the public or by those selling, letting or managing premises.
This is fundamental to the design of any public building.
The education part of the act (Section IV) builds on the Education Act of 1993 which aims to provide all pupils with special education needs, including disabled pupils, with an education and school place appropriate for their needs.
In our designs for Cranmore and Cregagh Primary Schools, we incorporated special needs rooms. The Primary Schools have two rooms specially equipped for those with partial hearing disability. Each room is fitted with a new sound field system and appropriate acoustic surface finishes.
All of our staff have carried out a one day disability awareness course.
Five of Knox & Clayton staff (certificates attached) have successfully completed the Access Auditory Course at the School of the Built Environment University of Ulster.
